Frequently Asked Questions

  • Simply put , birth photography is a documentary approach to telling the story of your baby’s arrival. For some families, that means capturing the emotions and moments leading up to baby’s arrival; for others, it includes the moment of birth itself, followed by first cuddles, first feedings, and baby’s initial exam. Every story is different, and your comfort always guides what is photographed.

If concerns about feeling exposed are holding you back, please know this: your boundaries are respected at all times. When you book a birth session with me, you can feel confident that I am deeply mindful of your comfort, privacy, and preferences throughout the entire experience. I photograph with intention, discretion, and care—checking in when needed and honoring exactly what you’re comfortable sharing.

Your birth is powerful, personal, and yours to define. My role is simply to document it in a way that feels respectful, and true to you.

  • When you book your session, I’ll send you an email with all the details! You’ll have my phone number, and we’ll be in communication during your last few weeks of pregnancy.

  • However you choose to birth, I will photograph. Home birth, birth center, hospital, c-section… I’ve done it all! Every birth deserves to be documented. Every birth is beautiful.

  • You can wear whatever you’d like! I highly recommend neutral or soft colors. Patterns are always fun to mix in! Please avoid black, navy, dark green, and red, as they don’t photograph well.

  • Fresh 48 sessions are taken within 48 hours of birth, at your baby’s birth place. Newborn photos are typically taken once your baby is a few weeks old and are at your home. You can’t go wrong with either, it just depends on what look you’re going for.
