MATERNITY

A pregnant woman with long brown hair sitting on a round wooden table in a living room, wearing a light-colored top and matching underwear, with her right hand resting on her thigh and her left hand touching her head. There are vases with dried leaves on the table, a stack of books nearby, and a sofa with cushions and throw pillows in the background. FAQ

  • For all session types, I recommend booking no later than the end of your second trimester. Maternity session are best to shoot when you’re between 28-34 weeks pregnant, so booking those at the beginning of your second trimester is best.

  • I don’t have a set radius for how far I’m willing to travel, but for birth photography I’d say no more than 45 minutes outside of Austin because I don’t want to risk missing your birth due to drive time.

Off the top of my head, here’s a list of areas outside of Austin that I absolutely service for all sessions: Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Lakeway, and Dripping Springs.

  • Fresh 48 sessions are taken within 48 hours of birth, at your baby’s birth place. Newborn photos are typically taken once your baby is a few weeks old and are at your home. You can’t go wrong with either, it just depends on what look you’re going for.

  • For maternity sessions, we’ll work together after booking to figure out a look! For fresh 48 and newborn sessions, I highly recommend neutral or soft colors. Patterns are always fun to mix in! Please avoid black, navy, dark green, and red, as they don’t photograph well.

  • Simply put , birth photography is a documentary approach to telling the story of your baby’s arrival. For some families, that means capturing the emotions and moments leading up to baby’s arrival; for others, it includes the moment of birth itself, followed by first cuddles, first feedings, and baby’s initial exam. Every story is different, and your comfort always guides what is photographed.

If concerns about feeling exposed are holding you back, please know this: your boundaries are respected at all times. When you book a birth session with me, you can feel confident that I am deeply mindful of your comfort, privacy, and preferences throughout the entire experience. I photograph with intention, discretion, and care—checking in when needed and honoring exactly what you’re comfortable sharing.

Your birth is powerful, personal, and yours to define. My role is simply to document it in a way that feels respectful, and true to you.
