An Austin Pregnancy Announcement Photoshoot: A Long-Awaited Announcement

Some sessions feel extra special before I even pick up my camera, and this was one of them.

I first connected with Nicole on Instagram after she reached out looking for last-minute availability. She was almost 20 weeks pregnant and, after years of struggling to conceive, was finally ready to share their news. Knowing a little of the story behind this pregnancy, I was especially excited to document this season for them. And even though my calendar was already full, I couldn't say no.

When we talked about her vision, she knew she wanted something casual that felt more like a couples photoshoot than a traditional pregnancy announcement. No holding up ultrasounds or overly posed photos, just the two of them enjoying this season together.

We landed on a beautiful outdoor location in Austin, right along the water, and timed the session perfectly for golden hour. The weather even cooperated, with temperatures finally dipping into the 80s after weeks of Texas heat.

After a short walk to our location, we spent about 45 minutes photographing together. The husband's goofy personality came out almost immediately, bringing out genuine laughter and smiles from his wife. Those candid moments are always some of my favorites to capture.

As the sun fell behind the surrounding hills, we wrapped up what felt like a perfectly timed session. I headed back to my car, opened my laptop, and immediately started importing the photos. I was so excited about what we'd captured!

The couple added expedited editing to their package, so they'll have their full gallery within a week. The sneak peeks are already exceptional, and I can't wait for them to see the rest.
